I really enjoyed eating these little, chocolatey pop-ems … my hubby and sons not so much…. but don’t let their (lack of) taste buds stop you!
If you’re a chocolate lover and like to eat a high protein, post workout snack or you simply want to nibble on something sweet that’s loaded with protein, superfoods and healthy fats … this recipe fits the bill!
Not only are these protein balls super-healthy and satisfying … they’re a total snap to make!
4 tablespoons unrefined coconut oil
4 tablespoons hulled hemp seeds
1 scoop chocolate protein powder (I use Jay Robb brand)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon cacao powder
a dash of ground cinnamon (optional)
shredded coconut, unsweetened (optional)
- Blend all ingredients thoroughly. Using a teaspoon, scoop out small portions and roll into balls. If you’re using the coconut … now’s the time to roll the balls in it.
- Chill in fridge for at least 20 minutes.
